Chase business cards: Hyatt 70,000 points, Southwest 80,000 points

Chase has raised the welcome offers on the World of Hyatt Business and Southwest Premier Business cards, and the Southwest bonus may matter most if it posts before 2027.

Two Chase business cards have higher welcome offers right now. Chase marks the World of Hyatt Business offer as new, and shows the old 60,000-point Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business offer struck through next to the new 80,000.

The offers

Neither card page lists an end date. Chase calls the Southwest offer a limited-time offer.

World of Hyatt Business: 70,000 points

  • Bonus: 70,000 bonus points after $7,000 in purchases in the first 3 months after account opening
  • Annual fee: $199
  • Earning (per Chase): 4 bonus points per $1 at Hyatt hotels (up to 9 total with the points Hyatt gives members), 2 points per $1 in your top three spending categories each quarter from a list that includes dining, shipping, airfare bought from the airline, advertising and gas stations, 2 per $1 at gyms, and 1 per $1 on everything else
  • Perks (per Chase): Discoverist status while the card is open, and 10% of redeemed points back (up to 200,000 points redeemed) in a calendar year once you spend $50,000

Apply: see the World of Hyatt Business card listing.

At our low-end World of Hyatt valuation of 1.5 cents a point, 70,000 points are worth about $1,050 (see point values).

Southwest Premier Business: 80,000 points

  • Bonus: 80,000 points after $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
  • Annual fee: $149
  • Earning (per Chase): 3 points per $1 on Southwest purchases, 2 per $1 at gas stations and restaurants on the first $8,000 a year, and 1 per $1 on everything else
  • Perks (per Chase): a free first checked bag for you and up to 8 others on your reservation, 6,000 points each card anniversary, a 15% flight discount code each anniversary, and 2,000 tier qualifying points for every $5,000 you spend

Apply: see the Southwest Premier Business card listing.

The Companion Pass angle. Chase's current terms say points earned on Southwest Rapid Rewards cards count toward a Companion Pass. Southwest says card welcome bonuses stop counting on Jan 1, 2027, and a pass earned in 2026 stays valid through Dec 31, 2027 (more in our Companion Pass post). So this bonus may make sense for a Companion Pass push only if you can finish the spend and have the points post before the end of 2026. Chase doesn't say exactly when the points post.

Eligibility

For both cards, Chase says the bonus isn't available to current cardmembers or to previous cardmembers who received that card's new-cardmember bonus in the last 24 months. Chase also generally declines applicants who opened five or more personal cards in the last 24 months (the 5/24 rule), and a new card means a hard credit inquiry.

Is it worth it?

The Hyatt offer may make sense if you can put $7,000 on a new card in 3 months and you stay at Hyatt hotels. The Southwest offer has a lower spending bar, and it may appeal most to Southwest flyers trying to lock in a Companion Pass under the 2026 rules. Either way, weigh the bonus against the annual fee with our guide to comparing a sign-up bonus to its annual fee.
