Chase has raised the no-annual-fee Freedom Flex bonus to $250 after $500 in purchases in three months, and its page now says the offer is ending soon.

The offer

  • Bonus: $250 cash back (25,000 Chase points) after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
  • Usual bonus: $200 for the same $500 spend, so this is $50 more
  • Annual fee: $0
  • Deadline: Chase's page carries an "Offer ending soon" banner but doesn't give an end date

Chase says the card isn't available to current Freedom Flex cardmembers, or to past cardmembers who got a new cardmember bonus on this card in the last 24 months. Chase says the bonus posts 6 to 8 weeks after you qualify.

How the card earns

  • 5% on up to $1,500 a quarter in rotating categories you activate. For October to December 2026, Chase lists grocery stores (excluding Walmart and Target), dining and American Red Cross.
  • 5% on travel booked through Chase Travel
  • 3% on dining, including takeout, and on drugstores
  • 1% on everything else
  • No foreign transaction fee, and a 0% intro APR on purchases for 15 months

Is it worth it?

A $500 spend for $250 back is one of the easiest bonuses around, and with no annual fee there's no cost to keep the card. The points become more valuable if you also hold a Chase card that earns Ultimate Rewards points, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, since Chase lets you move Freedom points to that account.

The Freedom Flex counts toward Chase's 5/24 rule, so read our guide to the Chase 5/24 rule before you apply if you're planning other Chase cards. If you're weighing it against a card with a fee, see sign-up bonus vs. annual fee.
